Who had the best signing day?

Weekly Wrapup

Right now, I think eight teams have a shot to end in the top 5 of the recruiting rankings. Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Texas and USC.  In my opinion, Florida State will have the #1 class because they are still very much in the running for many top prospects, including Tony Steward and Tim Jernigan.  The most surprising class in my opinion has been Louisville.  Charlie Strong and Co. have had tremendous success in Florida, most notably Teddy Bridgewater and Eli Rogers.

-Anthony Chickillo reaffirmed his commitment to the University of Miami.  This is huge for Al Golden and the U.

-Jacoby Brissett is down to Wisconsin, FSU, UF, and UM.  He has eliminated South Carolina and Washington from contention.
Text from Brissett: "Wasn't going to go to UW. Think Wisconsin is legit threat tho. UF coming hard now, UM too."

JUCO DT John Jenkins visited Georgia this weekend, but did not commit during the visit.  He will visit Florida next weekend.  This is shaping up to be a two team battle: UGA v. UF.

OLB Graham Stewart, currently committed to Boston College, was visited by Will Muschamp and is now saying that he will decide on February 4th or 5th between Boston College and UF.

Tim Jernigan and Tony Steward have both raved about their experience in Tallahassee this weekend. At this point I would say confidently that FSU is in the lead for Tony Steward (he rated the visit this weekend a 10 out of 10).  Clemson is still in the mix for Steward though.

-OLB Stephone Anthony enjoyed his visit to Virginia Tech, but I think this is a two team race between UF and Clemson.

-I predicted that DE Ray Drew would commit to UGA, but now rumors are floating around that Auburn is his leader and that he is a silent commit to Auburn.  This decision will come down to National Signing Day, but I expect him at UGA unless he does not want to play in 3-4 defense.  If that is the case, he will likely end up at Auburn.

-During his visit to Georgia, Isaiah Crowell was at the UGA basketball game. Supposedly the crowd started chanting his name during the game.  And rightfully so because he is the biggest player left on their board. He is a balanced running back that will add another dimension to Georgia's offensive attack.  I think he stays at home and commits to UGA.  Also, UGA offered his childhood best friend, Quintavious Harrow, a scholarship last week.  Harrow committed soon after, and I think this will likely entice Crowell to Athens, GA.

-DE Jermauria Rasco and his mother visited LSU this past weekend. An official visit to Florida next weekend will be his final stop before signing day.  At this point, I would guess LSU, but Florida could be a darkhorse with the last visit and Rasco's relationship with Coach Muschamp.  FSU is also in the mix here, so I wouldn't count them out either.

-DE Curt Maggitt will visit Florida next weekend.  He is impressed with Tennessee and Wisconsin.  Florida can seal the deal with a good visit this weekend.

-OT Cyrus Kouandijo visited Iowa this weekend and will visit Alabama next weekend.  Still a lot of uncertainty here.  Auburn, Alabama, Iowa, and New Mexico are his top 4.

Last but definitely not least:
-DE Jadeveon Clowney took a unofficial visit to South Carolina this past weekend to catch the USC vs. UK basketball game.  During the game, on three different occasions, the crowd broke out in "We Want Clowney" chants. He cancelled his official visit to Florida State to make the trip to Columbia, SC and no word on whether he will reschedule FSU visit.  He has time because he plans to announce after National Signing Day.  I think he stays home and goes to South Carolina.
