State of Florida Recruiting Update

Florida:
CB Marcus Roberson (St. Thomas HS, FL) and OT Jacob Fisher (Traverse City West HS, MI) spotted at the UF basketball game with Charlie Weiss on Saturday Night.  Although Marcus Roberson is committed to Texas Tech (his uncle is now the DB coach there), he has said that there is a 50-50 chance he ends up playing at Texas Tech.

Top targets as NSD approaches: Tim Jernigan, Curtis Grant, Stephone Anthony

Miami:
InsidetheU reported this morning that the Canes picked up another commitment from JUCO CB Byron Moore.  This commitment brings the canes to 13 commits and they are on a roll since Al Golden has hit the recruiting trail.  UM insiders also expect 5-star DE Anthony Chickillo to re-affirm his commitment to UM.  This would be the best news for Canes fans, as he is their number one target.  DT Elkino Watson cancelled his official visit to FSU and visited UM instead.  Lately it has been a UM vs UF battle for the Booker T. Washington standout, but all signals are pointing to Watson committing to UM in the end.  However, Louisville has come on strong and could be a darkhorse for his commitment.

Top targets as NSD approaches: Jalen Grimble, Marlin Lane, Elkino Watson

Florida State:
St. Augustine (FL) Pedro Menendez LB Tony Steward is still at FSU and said things are going really well. This will be a much anticipated NSD decision between FSU and Clemson, but I think he will end up at FSU.  Tim Jernigan also visited FSU this weekend.  His decision will likely come down to FSU, UF, LSU, and TENN.  FSU is also involved with one of the top defensive ends in the country, Jermauria Rasco (Shreveport, LA). Schools hot on the trail include LSU, Texas, Alabama, FSU, and recently Florida has jumped into the mix due to his relationship with Will Muschamp.  However, I do not see Florida getting him to commit as it may have been too late for them to get in the running.

Top targets as NSD approaches: Tim Jernigan, Tony Steward, Jermauria Rasco
